Description

The Department of Architectural Engineering at Penn State is widely acknowledged as the top architectural engineering program in the country. The Department resides within the College of Engineering, which is committed to impacting the lives of people around. Intent on enhancing its global reach, the Department of Architectural Engineering is accepting applications for a part-time Internationalization Assistant. We are seeking a driven individual to play a key role leveraging the reputation of the Architectural Engineering Department to internationalize its undergraduate and graduate student populations. This work will be accomplished by collaborating closely with the Department, the Director of Global Engineering Engagement, and key stakeholders while executing an international recruitment strategy. Furthermore, this position will also dedicate a portion of its time towards advancing undergraduate study abroad participation for Architectural Engineering students. It is expected that the incumbent will become well-acquainted with the graduate and undergraduate curriculum and be highly motivated to work independently. Excellent interpersonal skills, a desire to work with students and the ability to understand foreign government sponsored programs and U.S. State Department recruitment resources is a must. While there may be the possibility to attend a professional conference, it is not currently anticipated that this position will require travel. This is a wage payroll, project-based position, working Monday-Friday (approximately 20 hours per week). Initially, it is expected that this will be a temporary position for up to one year. However, it is possible this may vary as the project or organizational needs develop.
