Description

Approximately 15-20 hours a week through the semester with the option of also receiving academic credit if eligible. Assist in the planning and the marketing of Career and Professional Development events and programs. Assist in creating promotional materials i.e. fliers, posters, social media posts and more using tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, etc. Assist in preparing the materials for our events such as hand-outs and booklets. Assist the department the day of the event, depending on availability (assist with set-ups, greeting guests and students and handling registration, check-in and more). Assist with follow-up for our events with attendees and participants, such as sending confirmations, thank you notes, and gathering necessary information (such as evaluations and surveys) via email, mail and/or by phone. Handle special research projects such as researching additional grant and funding opportunities, articles, publications, websites and other resources for our programming and planning. Assist in creating, merging and updating databases related to current or potential employers. Assist in providing employers and students guidance for the new Nittany Lion Careers job posting system. Assist in creating tools to track the attendance, expenses, evaluations and other pertinent information for our programs. Benchmark our peer institutions to aid in planning. Assist in conducting outreach to employer partners as requested. Assist in preparing end-of-year metrics for reporting to stakeholders. Assist in other duties as needed. Interested students should have a basic working knowledge of Excel, Google sheets/docs/forms, and an interest in PR, business, sales or social media. Must be a current Penn State Student.
