The Sustainability Institute and Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) is looking for a goal/results orientated candidate to act as program coordinator for the President’s Box Zero-Waste and Tailgate Ambassador programs during home football games (including Blue and White). This candidate will also partner with the Student-Athlete Advisory board to develop a community engagement modeled after the NFL`s Super Kids-Super Sharing program. Support for sustainability-focused research can also be provided. A successful candidate must have a basic understanding of sustainability issues/concepts, a passion for Penn State’s athletic traditions, and exceptional written and in-person communication skills. The position will begin immediately and run through the summer and following academic year (March 2019 – May 2020). Working hours are flexible with 30+ hours during the summer and a maximum of 20 during the academic year. The Associate Director for Student Engagement at the Sustainability Institute will provide day-to-day supervision with strong mentorship from the ICA Facilities Operations staff.
