The Office of Planning and Assessment at Penn State Harrisburg is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant 3. This position provides administrative support to the Senior Director of Strategic Communications. Projects will be managed as needed by the Director, and the position is also part of the Chancellor's Office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: research report preparation, which includes preparing weekly, monthly and special research reports, proofing and editing, fact checking, data gathering, formatting and distribution of documents to senior administrative leadership; provide office support such as ordering supplies, arrange meetings and manage catering, agenda, travel, room reservation and technical logistics; provide proofreading support and develop PowerPoint and/or written presentations for the Director; serve as the point-of-contact for marketing research requests; and serve as the liaison between the requester and Data Analyst for new projects. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate's degree preferred. Must have the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Prefer intermediate knowledge of the College and its units, as well as various University offices. Having experience with Penn State financial systems (IBIS, ERS, FIT) is preferred. Familiarity with editorial style guides (AP, Penn State) and having an understanding of good writing techniques, grammar and punctuation is imperative. Must be able to work professionally, and use discretion with a high level of confidentiality is required. A successful candidate can maintain effective relationships with the college community in a diverse environment, can work independently, and have strong problem solving skills. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
