The Office for Undergraduate Education in the College of Agricultural Sciences Program is seeking enthusiastic undergraduate/graduate applicants for the PA School for Excellence in the Agricultural Sciences Program. This is a high energy, hands-on residence program offered at University Park, PA. Applicants must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be prepared to fulfill the job duties which include assisting the administrative team in preparing materials for the program, maintaining databases, and daily program operations, leading field and class activities, responsible for supervising participants indoors, outdoors and overnight; managing participant safety; organizing materials and supplies, conducting inventory and clean up. Essential requirements: demonstrated success and enthusiasm with high school aged students, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail the ability to multi-task and learn on-the-job. Applicant must be a proactive self-starter with willingness to adapt to changing position requirements. Excellent interpersonal skills, reliability, and flexible schedule (including weekend hours and evenings during the program July 7-August 2, 2019) are essential. The College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State and PSEAS Program are committed to the ensuring the safety of our program participants and staff. All PSEAS staff are “authorized adults” according to Penn State policy AD39 MINORS INVOLVED IN UNIVERSITY-SPONSORED PROGRAMS OR PROGRAMS HELD AT THE UNIVERSITY AND / OR HOUSED IN UNIVERSITY FACILITIES. All members of the university staff, university contractors and faculty and residence life staff of the School for Excellence who will interact and have contact with students in the program will be required to undergo the Pennsylvania State Police and FBI background checks required pursuant to section 111 of the Public School Code of 1949, as amended, and to obtain or have obtained an Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance as a condition for hiring or assignment to the program.
These salary bands have been established to provide salary guidelines for staff positions.
