The Security Services Division of the Applied Research Laboratory is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student to assist with various projects involving controlled material in support of the Department of Defense and Homeland Security programs. You will assist with the update and design of a website for dissemination of training and other written guidance materials in the security and counterintelligence field. Typical duties will include: assist with periodic inventories and inspections; review controlled items for required markings; prepare documents, hard drives, circuit boards, microchips, etc. to be sent to approved destruction facilities; conduct record searches which include verification, scanning, and/or filing of physical and electronic records; and identify, improve, and implement processes to better safeguard and account for controlled material to ensure compliance with government regulations. Students studying Library Science, Supply Chain Management, or Information System or Database Management are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will work up to 40 hours/week over the summer and, if possible, up to 20 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
