Description

The Institute for CyberScience (ICS) at Penn State is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, and experienced Administrative Support Assistant to join our team. The position will serve as principal support for the ICS Director and leadership. The role requires an extremely organized individual who displays a high level of professionalism and the ability to perform a wide variety of complex administrative functions in a busy team-oriented office environment. Duties include but are not limited to: managing complex calendar appointments and meetings that require coordination with multiple external organizations; organizing, providing logistics, and preparing agendas and materials for high-level committees, co-hire faculty searches and evaluations; coordinating travel and processing reimbursements; taking detailed meeting minutes as requested; greeting guests and providing general office support. Candidates must demonstrate the following behaviors/skills: professionalism with a high commitment to customer service; interpersonal/communication skills, organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; agility to manage and prioritize tasks with minimal direction; and exercise discretion and judgement while managing confidential information. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with Penn State systems and an understanding of information technology is preferred. Proficiency is required in standard computer applications and programs, email, calendaring and file management. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
