The Office of Physical Plant (OPP) is seeking a self-motivated and customer-oriented team leader to support the success of the Work Reception Center (WRC). WRC is staffed 24/7/365 with varying hours, shifts, and schedules. The ideal candidate will be expected to work during emergencies, campus closures, overnights, special events (e.g. football), and Penn State recognized holidays. The successful candidate will typically work a combination of second and third shift hours and at least one weekend shift weekly but may be scheduled to work daylight to cover absences and other special events/assignments. The successful candidate will serve as the team lead in the WRC as well as be part of the WRC work schedule, will be the key contact during off shifts and weekends, providing direction and guiding decisions and processes for all WRC staff. This candidate should have expert knowledge of the OPP structure, processes and procedures, and resources available to ensure accurate and timely service for all WRC duties and responsibilities. These duties include but are not limited to: receiving and processing routine and emergency maintenance requests, prioritizing these requests, and dispatching personnel as necessary while creating work orders and actions taken in our CMMS database, Maximo. Primary duties will consist of updating critical procedures, call lists, special instructions, attachments in the CMMS database, and other various documents that are critical to OPP and PSU processes. This position will assist the supervisor of WRC in providing technical training and guidance to WRC on software and technologies used within the workgroup, attend training and seminars as required to maintain knowledge of current trends and application advancements. Additional duties include creating and maintaining WRC staff schedules, rotating voluntary overtime, updating the rapid notification system, and assist with new hire orientation and onboarding. The candidate typically will be the first point of contact for the second, third and weekend WRC staff and will be available for off shift and weekend phone calls. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional customer service skills, have previous experience using a customized database and must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
