Description

The SIMBA Project (System for Integrated Management + Business + Accounting) at Penn State is seeking a Communications Lead. This role is expected to create proactive communication strategies, in partnership with EPMO Communications Manager, to support (SIMBA) and communicate to key stakeholders and audiences; manage key communications initiatives, including SIMBA website and social media channels; leverage knowledge of communication and the organizational culture to manage execution of a “Journey to SIMBA” campaign. This position will develop copy and graphic design elements for SIMBA communications channels; assist in the design and delivery of strategic message opportunities and presentations for SIMBA Executive Sponsors and Project Leads; ensure alignment with University communication strategies and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across Penn State. Ensure relevance, consistency, integration, alignment, and appropriate timing of messages across the organization. The incumbent will be creating opportunities for dialogue and alignment for Penn State employees through a variety of avenues and methods (Town Halls, social media, etc.). Plan and develop strategic messages and communication plans to drive organizational change and specific events to drive awareness and adoption. This position will counsel individuals on development of key messages and on effective message delivery; coordinate with SIMBA OCM lead to conduct impact analyses and stakeholder analysis to understand stakeholder needs and commitment; develop and monitor mechanisms to continually gather feedback from key stakeholders to adjust change and communication strategies where needed; assist with the development and socialization of processes and protocols for implementing change. This role will support SIMBA project teams by reviewing and recommending refinements to direct communication work products. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire.
