The Survey Research Center at Penn State University is currently looking to hire a data collection coordinator to help oversee and administer surveys to elementary students in MN schools. This is a remote position that will work in the state of Minnesota only. Successful candidates will be able to follow a very specific protocol; be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per month during the school day (8a to 3p) for a minimum of three days per week; be willing to travel locally; have regular and reliable transportation; have regular and reliable access to telephone service; be able to meet the physical requirements of the position with reasonable accommodations: lift and carry 10 - 15 pounds of equipment and materials, and climb a flight of stairs while carrying equipment. Applicants must have the ability to help coordinate a large project involving multiple people or components; have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a strong rapport with other study staff, school staff, and study respondents; have research experience or experience working with elementary-aged children and/or in school settings; have strong reading and verbal skills; Be competent with computer and Internet technology; have experience working and communicating in a team setting; be self-motivated, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented; have the ability to complete work tasks accurately and independently; have the ability to keep detailed records of all work activities and administrative tasks; pass a criminal record check and obtain required clearances. The desirable criteria are: previous project coordinator experience; have an education or psychology background; obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree; have experience working or teaching in school settings; have experience conducting observations in classroom setting.
