The Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS) is seeking a highly motivated, customer service focused information technology support specialist. The information technology support specialist will provide first line support to faculty, staff and other users of mission critical research administration systems that support sponsored programs, research protections, and core research facility management and other research administration functions. The information technology support specialist will enter, categorize, and report on the volumes, types, and time required to resolve issues. Based on this data, the information technology support specialist will make recommendations for improving user experience, prioritizing bug fixes and enhancements that will reduce the need for support requests. In addition, the information technology support specialist will provide occasional desktop support to ORIS staff and serve as a member of the ORIS JIRA administration team. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will be familiar with the Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with research administration and JIRA is desirable.
