This internship is a research and development position for new and ongoing projects in the Palmer’s education department. The primary focus will be to develop a cohesive plan for K-12 educator programs at the museum, including written resources, online tools, workshops and tour programs. Specific duties of this position will include: research best practices in museum education; research art and artist related to the Palmer’s collection; conduct surveys and evaluation of museum audiences; prepare written materials for educators and other museum visitors; and assist with creating an interpretive plan for the museum. This position may also participate as needed with gallery installation projects and public programs. This internship is made possible by the Pincus Family Foundation Endowment for Student Education. The Palmer Museum of Art is able to offer paid internships during the summer semester for upper-level undergraduate and graduate students. Summer interns are required to work 20 hours per week at the museum for six weeks (exact dates can be flexible between June 1- Aug 9).
