The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our nationally recognized program. The primary focus for this position will be youth program compliance and the successful candidate will assist in the development and implementation of programs and procedures to facilitate compliance with all required procedures, policies, regulations, and laws. Responsibilities include overseeing compliance with state and federal mandated program requirements; ensuring accurate monitoring and management of training records and statutorily required background clearances; collecting, organizing, and reviewing documentation related to individual, group, and institutional compliance requirements; and assisting in the development and/or update of policies and procedures related to compliance. Schedule could include occasional night and weekend efforts and travel to other Commonwealth Campuses may be required. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Individuals with a background in the field of children and youth protection is preferred. The following competencies are required: advanced knowledge of state and federal youth protection statutes; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues; ability to maintain established program objectives; display a high standard of ethical conduct; exhibits honesty and integrity; exhibit a high level of initiative, effort and commitment toward completing assignments independently and self-manage competing job responsibilities and deadlines; demonstrate responsible behavior and attention to detail; aligns behavior with the needs, priorities and goals of the organization; express information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; and listen to others and respond appropriately. Experience using computerized databases and standard office support software, such as Office 365 tools, is required.
