Description

The Corporate Engagement Center (CEC) was formed in 2018 as a partnership between the Office of the Vice President for Research, University Development, and Career Services as part of a broader strategic initiative at Penn State to deepen our engagement with industry, enhance economic development, and support student career success. The CEC team fosters strategic relationships with industry partners by understanding their business needs and connecting them to the appropriate university resources, developing long-term and multi-element partnerships that can include research, philanthropy, talent pipeline development, and continuing education for their workforce. The Industrial Relations Coordinator role is a full-time position reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Corporate Engagement. This Industrial Relations Coordinator will be responsible for developing and nurturing corporate relationships with potential and existing partners, to further industrial research growth and philanthropic support at the University from corporate partners. This position will promote the Universities’ brand, identify opportunities, and strategically connect university resources and industry specific opportunities; to provide solutions and value to current and potential sponsors aligned with the universities’ mission of teaching, research, and outreach. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in industry and academia and in developing long-term strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate must have exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivation, and ability to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects, maintain accurate records on progress and relationship building, and be able to communicate effectively with faculty.
