The Student Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, planning and implementation of out of class programming initiatives. Duties will include coordinating a dynamic student activities program, leadership development and diversity and inclusion programming. This position will also oversee, advise and consult with clubs and organizations and their advisors on policies and procedures, will serve as THON advisor and as co-advisor to the Student Government Association. Duties also include working with the Director of Student Affairs to facilitate all aspects of new student orientation programming. This position will require responsibility for the student engagement budget, student union facilities, and risk management, as it relates to student engagement. This position will supervise a part time assistant and student workers. Duties will also include preparing all appropriate student engagement brochures, handbooks, marketing, social media and website information, and other duties as assigned. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A Master's degree in Higher Education is preferred. The successful applicant will demonstrate organizational, strong leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion and understanding for student affairs work and seek the opportunity to grow to greater responsibility to advance their career here at Penn State DuBois. This job will require some evening and weekend hours and overnight travel. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required. Application review will begin on March 1, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled. This is a fixed-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of re-funding.
