The Office of Student Activities is seeking diverse and culturally competent candidates committed to fostering exploration, community engagement and the development of students. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong facilitation, program planning, communication, and advising skills. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Service and Leadership in the Office of Student Activities, which strives to cultivate student learning by fostering exploration, community engagement and development through educational and experiential opportunities. This position will assist with the development, implementation, and assessment of service and leadership programs in a collaborative and inclusive environment which may include; days of service, immersive experiences, workshops, and student leader trainings. Additionally, they will advise student committees and may provide supervision to interns and/or a Graduate Assistant. Specifically, this position will advise Penn State Alternative Break program which coordinates trips during Fall, Winter, and Spring Break that seek to promote active citizenship through education, direct community engagement, and reflection. Additionally, it will advise the Fresh START day of service planning team, and support the development of the Wellness Special Living Option. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours to support night and weekend activities is required. This position will conduct interviews, in part, during TPE (The Placement Exchange); please include a TPE candidate number if applicable. This position may require that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
