The Department of Nuclear Engineering is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide administrative support to the Graduate and Undergraduate Programs in the department. This position will serve as first point of contact for both internal and external customers. This position is responsible for assisting both online and resident graduate students as well as faculty members with complex curriculum/program issues. Responsibilities include: Provide administrative support for the general management and daily operation of the undergraduate and graduate program office. Serve as Liaison for World Campus Courses. Prepare correspondence to University offices and students, handle confidential issues, correspond with students and assist with graduate advising. Review and process graduate admissions applications annually and ensure all necessary information is included. Arrange itineraries for on-campus visits for applicants. Establish, update, and maintain all confidential graduate student files, process paperwork and reports for Graduate School concerning exams, and record examination scores. Track and certify records, review transcripts and degree audits, resolve problems, and assure department and university requirements for degree are met. Responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the undergraduate and graduate course offerings for each semester which can also include distance education courses. Organize and execute events such as the department’s new graduate student orientation, graduate student recruiting activities, and other department functions as needed. Identify applicants that meet specific criteria for available College/University fellowships and coordinate preparation of nomination package. Prepare financial offers for new graduate student assistantships and fellowships and track offers to maximize the available resources. Compose correspondence on behalf of department head, director of graduate studies, or faculty advisor related to certifications and verifications for graduate student needs. Responsible for communicating with students on departmental and university policies. Advise undergraduate students of degree requirements. Monitor student progress, maintain records, and certify students for graduation. Coordinate the senior capstone research and design theses and manage student degree audits using the Curriculum Review and Consultation System (CSRS). Access LionPATH for numerous academic requests such as final exam scheduling, course scheduling, advising assignments and course management. Develop, maintain, and update various databases for the purpose of data analysis/reporting. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with student records, iTwo, LionPath, CollegeNet, WorkLion, GRADS, and knowledge of University student policies strongly preferred. Knowledge of University Policies and Procedures related to students and FERPA guidelines is preferred. Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communications skills and a demonstrated commitment to provide exceptional proactive customer service to a diverse clientele is required. Must have ability to be a team player, handle multiple priorities with attention to detail with accountability to both the team and yourself. University Data Warehouse experience required.
