Description

Penn State’s Nature Center—Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center (SCEC)—is looking for an organized, energetic, dedicated, and responsible individual to support the Director of Shaver's Creek and administer the academic class portfolio of Shaver's Creek. This position is an integral link to the Center’s academic partners and must coordinate with the faculty and staff at SCEC, the University Registrar and Bursar Offices, and the Colleges' appropriate support staff and faculty. Other support for the Director will be provided by the position in the form of calendar/scheduling support for the Director and for Director-led projects such as hosting Outreach and University leadership meetings on site, annual fund-raiser, and donor functions, the preparing of annual reports for Outreach and Online Education, coordinating the weekly Staff Meetings at Shaver's Creek. This is a standing term appointment supervised by the Director. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate should have an understanding of Penn State course management platforms (ISIS, Lion PATH, etc.), including classroom assignments and changes to course listings each semester. Candidates should be proficient with email, Filemaker Pro, and Microsoft Office. Candidates should also possess a strong environmental ethic consistent with the mission of Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center. This position must be able to provide excellent customer service to our diverse population of customers, including Penn State faculty, staff and administrators; students, nature center visitors, program participants, camp parents, work-study students, volunteers, staff, and interns.
