Description

The Filippelli Institute at the College of the Liberal Arts is seeking a talented Multimedia Specialist to join our growing Learning Design unit. This person will collaborate with a team of instructional designers, multimedia staff, and faculty members to develop complex, multimedia elements for online courses. Candidates should possess advanced skills in videography and graphic arts. They must be able produce and edit videos, create graphics (such as diagrams, infographics and original illustrations), and develop simple animations. Candidates should also be flexible and team-oriented and have excellent communication skills. The person chosen for this position will collaborate with instructional designers and faculty to visually represent complex course-related concepts, principles, and processes and to ensure their work enhances student learning by incorporating recommended instructional design strategies and best practices. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some knowledge of or an interest in learning After Effects or 3D programs is a plus but not required. Knowledge of Canvas and web design (CSS and HTML5) is a plus. Experience in using Adobe programs such as Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator is essential. The ideal candidate will have intermediate knowledge video production. In addition, the candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to think creatively, and clearly articulate their ideas to faculty. Time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects are essential. Basic knowledge of copyright and accessibility is required. The online portfolio should include examples of original video production and editing along with examples of original artwork. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
