Description

The Work Control Division of the Office of Physical Plant is seeking an Facilities Asset Management (FAM) Business Analyst to be responsible for the maintenance and support activities related to keeping Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) applications (i.e. Maximo, Propel, SuiteReq, ArcGIS, DocFinity, Akwire, Syclo Mobile, etc.) and systems stable and functional for the user community. This person will work closely with internal and external customers and business partners to provide guidance and recommend solutions that will enable the organization to achieve its goals, while ensuring the integrity of the application and data processes via best management practices. This position provides application support and is a key contact person for EAM applications and functional users; provides guidance and expertise in application practices to the business; ensures integrity of the application and data; captures, documents, develops and modifies business processes; maintains system utilization scorecard and roadmaps; identifies data sources required to meet customer needs; assess data quality issues; acts as liaison between functional users and IT staff, and translates FAM business requirements into technical specifications for IT to support the purchase and deployment of new hardware, systems or applications; evaluates new applications or evolving business needs and identifies system requirements, including design, testing and training; supports project activities; develops business cases; interprets business issues or needs and recommends solutions and best practices; seeks opportunities to leverage application functionality to meet business needs; prepares documentation and communications on system modifications; solves complex problems with strong troubleshooting skills accompanied with a broad perspective across the enterprise; recognizes problems which may span multiple applications. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred. Graduate degree in a technical discipline or broader business is valued. Certifications a plus. Experience in IBM Maximo or a similar Enterprise Asset Management application is required. Candidates must have strong customer service skills, knowledge of methodologies and technical aspects within IT, in-depth knowledge of project methodologies, knowledge implementation, and best practices, In-depth knowledge of mobile capabilities within facilities management, knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes, the ability to identify, capture, and translate business requirements for EAM functional users, the ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies, and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
