Description

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking a self-motivated individual to serve as the first point of contact for the Department. Responsibilities as the receptionist and office support include: answer and direct phone calls; greet and assist students, faculty and visitors in the main office. Maintain inventory and order office supplies for the department, manage departmental calendars for conference room scheduling, assign keys and maintain database for keys and electronic card swipe access, monitor safety clearances for proper access to building and labs, and coordinate poster printing and mounting for department faculty and students to present research projects. In addition, the successful candidate may act as backup for processing travel reimbursements and assisting with special events. Knowledge of IBIS, Penn State’s Employee Reimbursement System, Microsoft Office Products, and DocFinity is a plus.
