Description

The EPISCenter, a project of the Prevention Research Center at Penn State University, is seeking applicants for the position of Education Program Associate 3 (Implementation Specialist/IS). The IS is a field technical assistance provider serving organizations and schools throughout Pennsylvania as they implement evidence-based prevention and intervention programs targeting delinquency, youth drug use, and other problem behaviors. Successful candidates should have the ability to work with program providers and developers to solve complex problems related to evidence-based program implementation. An understanding of evidence-based prevention as well as issues related to implementation quality and fidelity, impact/outcome assessment, and sustainability of school- and community-based prevention programs would be ideal. Experience with community prevention coalitions, as well as state grants management and reporting are also valued. Duties involve providing technical assistance to ensure high-quality program delivery, collection and reporting of program impact data, and program sustainability, including: individual site consultation(s), quarterly review of Excel based program data to ensure quality, identify technical assistance needs, and summarize data for PA stakeholders; coordinating in-state networking meetings of “communities of practice”; collaborating with program developers to create tools and resources to support programs; creating or organizing trainings that enhance sites’ capacities for quality implementation and sustainability; identifying methods that reduce program expenses or that leverage economies of scale, help communities collect and analyze data related to risk and protective factors and select programs and periodic presentations at conferences, during webinars, or as part of learning community meetings. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor`s degree in prevention, public health, education, human services is strongly preferred. Research and statistical analysis experience preferred. Must have experience working with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and Qualtrics. The position is based at the EPISCenter’s University Park/State College location and will require some travel throughout Pennsylvania, although rarely overnight. Relocation support is not available for this position. Employment will require successful completion of background checks(s) in accordance with University policies.
