Description

The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education in the College of Agricultural Sciences seeks a self-directed and flexible person to provide administrative support for the Center for Economic and Community Development (CECD) and the Department. Primary duties include working as a member of the Center team to develop, schedule, market and facilitate professional development activities in conjunction with CECD faculty and staff. Provide day-to-day management of undergraduate student wage payroll employees. Departmental responsibilities include processing purchasing card, travel, and group meal submissions. Assist faculty by providing administrative support to include creating and maintaining databases, files, and reports; arrange meetings including preparing and distributing agendas and meeting materials; attend meetings and take minutes; assist in the development and preparation of PowerPoint presentations. Plan and assist with special events, including the planning and facilitation of seminars. Arrange presenters, reserve rooms, order refreshments, and develop promotional materials. Prepare publications and educational materials, reports, and PowerPoint presentations. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office and knowledge of ERS system is preferred. Experience working in community or economic development is a plus. Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
