Description

Penn State Nuclear Engineering is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant Level 3. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support for the office of the department head. Primary duties include the following: maintain the department head’s calendar, schedule appointments, screen calls, act on routine requests or refer as needed, draft correspondence, gather data and prepare various reports; monitor budgets and funds and process financial documents and transactions; make travel arrangements and process travel reimbursement requests; maintain accurate files and databases that may include sensitive and confidential information; serve on various departmental committees, take minutes, coordinate lab meetings, and other daily tasks; assist with support needed for faculty searches, annual faculty evaluation process, promotion and tenure reviews, and peer faculty teaching reviews; maintain department faculty/staff directory. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must be proficient in the Microsoft suite of applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as have the ability to multi-task, produce accurate work, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Experience in ERS, Workday, Purchasing Card Processing and Reconciliation, and e-Buy as well as knowledge of university processes highly desired. Evidence of excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills is required. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must possess the capacity to exercise good judgment.
