This is a part-time position that will work with Penn State’s federally funded TRIO Training program, delivering educational programming and training at national on-site conferences throughout the Unites States, four times a budget year. This position will attend conferences and events, facilitating professional development workshops centered primarily on modules to educate adult professionals on financial aid, financial literacy, and admissions. Onsite conferences will be held multiple times per year at University Park, and other locations throughout the United States. This position will facilitate conference workshops including advising and coaching participants. This position will direct educational programming and materials to be distributed and utilized at onsite and online conferences. Typically requires Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, counselor education, college student personnel, psychology, social work, or related field. Preferred work-related experience includes six or more years experience with TRIO Federal grant programs; experience working with TRIO-eligible students & parents; experience with Title IV financial aid (and other sources); personal financial management non-traditional students, and post-secondary entrance requirements; possess specific knowledge of financial aid, participant college application/admission process, serving hard to reach populations, serving non-traditional students, and reporting student/project performance. Major work duties include teaching adults specific skills to targeted audiences in the assigned subject matter; conduct needs assessments and evaluation; design, develop, and implement educational programs utilizing a variety of delivery systems such as presentations, workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings, individual contact, online, and demonstrations; interpret and disseminate the latest research findings in the field of practice; provide leadership to any dimension(s) of natural working group performance; develop leadership capacity among the clientele; demonstrate program impact with underrepresented audiences; and plan and deliver educational programs based on identified problems, opportunities and/or needs. This job’s primary office is located at University Park, PA and requires overnight travel, and evening hours.
