Description

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking a Financial Assistant to process electronic and paper accounting documents; reconcile purchasing card transactions; resolve direct bills through CRFN and obtain required backup documentation; submit purchase orders/standing orders/IDCC/JVDP; resolve eBuy orders and other purchases; process cash reports (ROCR) and imaging all purchasing card transactions into Docfinity. This position will gather, compile and process employee and non-employee travel reimbursements and group meal requests through the Employee Reimbursement System (ERS); assist and resolve department questions on ERS. Process visa and appointment paperwork for Post-Docs and Visiting Scientists. Manage and review retention of financial/proposal files. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. IBIS experience preferred. Knowledge of University policies and procedures, and experience with ERS, Excel, IBIS, and FIT preferred. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills essential; requires strict confidentiality and the ability to manage a large volume of time sensitive work. Excellent communication skills both orally and written and shared vision for team goals. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
