The College of Engineering, Office of Engineering Research Administration (OERA) seeks an innovative, highly skilled professional for the Proposal Development Coordinator position. This position will work in a large volume, fast paced, complex, detailed, and multifaceted environment. Provide exceptional customer service to faculty and departmental administrators. Responsible for assisting in the administration of policies and procedures concerning the preparation, development and management of large interdisciplinary sponsored programs. Seek, obtain, disseminate, and file information on funding opportunities. Review, analyze, and process proposals, contracts, and grants from various federal, state, local agencies and private corporations and foundations. Advise faculty and staff in interpreting and adhering to sponsor and University guidelines and regulations. Prepare budgets for proposals and maintain contract records and reports for sponsored projects. Assist in advising and consulting with faculty and staff, Department Heads, Deans and administrative offices on proposal preparation and contract commitments. Serve as liaison with sponsors and other University offices on behalf of faculty and staff. Coordinate and participate in seminars and workshops for faculty or staff involved in sponsored programs, especially interdisciplinary projects. Assist in seeking support for proposal coordination, writing, editing, and graphics as needed. Manage content for OERA/college research website. Provide assistance in all aspects of post-award administration: compliance, reports, invoices, create new accounts, AURAs, BARAs, revised budgets, account transfers, no-cost extension requests, monitor deadlines, resolve problems. Assist in modifying procedures to meet changing regulations and University policies. Qualify for and obtain delegated signatory authority. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with electronic proposal submission sites, IBIS, Excel, Word, SIMS Budgets preferred. Graduate of Penn State ACES preferred. This position requires flexibility and self-management skills, including the ability to prioritize among a large number of tasks. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required. Capability to work both independently and as a team member, ability to multi-task and respond professionally in challenging situations is essential. This is a fixed-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of re-funding.
