The Director of Infrastructure Projects oversees a portfolio of enterprise-scale projects each involving millions of dollars of investment, and dozens of contributing staff members. Implements systems that directly or indirectly support business critical and mission critical activities across the university. Has direct financial authority over project staffing, hardware, software and services budgets. The technologies and services provided generally are foundational for administrative, academic and research activities. Directly manages a varying number of staff members depending on the active portfolio. The initial assignments for this role will be to lead infrastructure work for the SIMBA Financial ERP replacement, and the CIO’s Reimaging IT project. The selected candidate will be responsible to make sure our infrastructure is delivered at national-caliber service levels. He/she will collaborate across diverse groups to ensure projects and services are aligned with University goals and requirements. He/she will facilitate the development of strategic and tactical plans, to ensure investment, services and operations meet the needs of the University now and in the future. He/she will manage millions of dollars of operational and project budgets and will act with unimpeachable integrity to ensure these resources are appropriately and effectively used. The successful candidate will partner closely with IT leaders inside and outside of the Enterprise IT organization to make sure strategy, tactics and services are highly aligned. He/she will build a culture where staff are empowered, where customers come first and where the team continuously improves the quality of its services and the breadth and depth of its capabilities. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
