Description

The Registered Dietitian position is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and implementation of all nutrition initiatives within Auxiliary and Business Services including but not limited to evaluating menus and recipes for ingredient, allergen and nutritional content, maintaining accurate nutrition information for all guests, and developing relationships to promote growth of the nutrition program. Auxiliary and Business Services includes food service operations including but not limited to Residential Dining at University Park and 13 campuses across the Commonwealth, Retail Dining, a multi-faceted warehouse and distribution center, on-campus Bakery and Housing and Food Service Purchasing department. The successful candidate will have the willingness to lead and work in a team-based environment as well as an eagerness to support and engage with all departmental and university initiatives and efforts. The ability to foster a positive climate among a diverse group of staff, student employees, and participants is essential. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (oral and written) skills are essential. Previous experience in institutional or volume foodservice, including proper food presentation and merchandising; and recipe and menu management, development of nutrition education programs including training presentations for both small and large groups and therapeutic diet counseling with specific emphasis on working with individuals with food allergies and intolerances required. Demonstrated knowledge of computers including the Microsoft Office Suite and experience with FoodPro or other menu management database systems. Must be ServSafe certified. Registered Dietitian as credential through Commission on Dietetic Registration required.
