Description

The Summer Conference Assistant (SCA) position serves as a front-line team member of Penn State’s Conference Services and Commons Desk Operations. SCAs are often the first on-site Penn State staff member our guests come into contact with, so they are particularly vital to our customer service efforts. SCAs are responsible for a variety of roles within our operation including answering guest questions, check-in/check-out operations, and other duties as assigned. SCAs also serve in an on-call duty rotation during the evenings to support our guests’ needs in their assigned residence halls. Time commitment is heavily dependent on the number of events on campus at any given time. Attendance at weekly staff meetings is required. Due to the nature of the position, successful candidates are compensated with a room and board package, as well as an hourly wage for greeting shifts. Mandatory work dates for the season are as follows: May 8–17, May 24-28, June 5-8, 22, and July 10–14.
