Description

Penn State Law in University Park and the School of International Affairs is seeking a multimedia and audio/visual professional to provide classroom and event support to our various constituents. Responsibilities include: Co-administer the Schools’ MediaSite automated recording and live streaming system. Schedule recordings of classes, create and maintain catalogs, applying the appropriate security to ensure that only authorized individuals have access to the recordings. Appropriately dispose of videos and catalogs upon expiration. Select, schedule, and ensure proper operation of appropriate server and recorder hardware and software upgrades. Co-manage the Law School's daily classroom, event, and video conference activities. Instruct faculty and students on use of the Law School's classroom systems and software learning tools. Continually monitor the classroom environment and observe instructor and presenter needs to optimize the learning experience and ensure that events and classes start on time. Connect professors and guest speakers from remote locations via videoconferencing technologies. Investigate, recommend, and assist faculty with various teaching technologies such as student response systems. Support special events, including lunch conferences, evening events, and day-long symposiums. Simultaneously record and live-stream, edit, and post-produce event videos using digital editing tools. Maintain classroom technology systems and interface with vendors to ensure timely repair and return to service. Provide emergency and regular scheduled maintenance. Investigate and recommend classroom technology equipment and software upgrades. Supervise a group of student AV workers to provide evening and weekend support. Hours are generally Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., with occasional weekend support expected. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and customer support skills and the ability to assess problems and provide solutions in an environment that requires instant resolution to specialized issues. Must possess working knowledge of classroom systems such as AMX and Crestron and auditorium video and sound configuration and analyzation/diagnoses.
