Description

The Office of Outreach and Online Education Development and Alumni Relations is seeking an Assistant Director of Stewardship to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations, the Assistant Director of Stewardship has primary responsibility for serving as the advocate for proper Penn State stewardship of all donors and gifts. This individual will oversee the collaborative stewardship efforts on behalf of Outreach and Online Education at Penn State, which includes units such as the Penn State World Campus, Shaver’s Creek, WPSU, the Nittany AI Alliance, and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI@UP). The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating stewardship objectives to unit administrative leaders, department heads and their staff, the Development and Financial teams, and to the central University offices and donors. This position will provide unit oversight to ensure timely, consistent achievement of stewardship objectives such as monitoring of account management and stewardship achievement of eSteward users. In addition, this individual will lead the creation of all unit endowment and annually funded account guidelines and budgets; and manage the unit gift recording and tracking processes. Other duties include serving on University-wide stewardship committees to help develop ongoing stewardship training programs and materials. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, show excellent judgement, proofreading, and interpersonal skills. Special consideration given to candidates with working knowledge of Penn State Development and Alumni Relations software systems: eSteward, AWA, and Lotus Notes. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
