Description

The Communications, Information and Navigation Office (CINO) at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is looking for a motivated and talented Programmer/Analyst to join our Visualization Technology Department which is part of the Visualization and Decision Support Division. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assuming a specialized leadership role; software and system integration; system operation and administration; data integration; application and feature development; 3D content integration; application configuration and testing; feature documentation, and specialized technical task execution and reporting. This job will be filled as a level 2, level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science and Technology, or Computer engineering is preferred. Experience with the following is preferred: Simulation or gaming content development (Unity3D highly preferred); 3D content development (3DS Max/Maya modeling, Photogrammetry, CAD, etc.), or geographic information systems (GIS) tool suites; familiarity with current available virtual/augmented/extended reality (VR/AR/XR) technologies; and familiarity with Agile Framework. The ideal candidate will have a background in AR/VR/3D content development, and data visualization technologies. Experience with the following is required: application of software development; 3D content generation; and integration skills sets to develop and configure assets, features, and utilities for a Unity 3D-based synthetic environment framework. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. This is a one-year fixed-term renewable appointment.
