Description

The Undergraduate Education Office in the Smeal College of Business is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual with the experience, skills and demeanor necessary to coordinate the reception area and serve as the department’s first point of contact. Some of the primary responsibilities include: Supervision of one full-time staff assistant. Schedule advising appointments, answer phones, and handle inquiries from parents and prospective and current students. Assist with office communications. Arrange visits for prospective students and their families. Assist with college recruitment, retention, and advising activities. Responsible for updating adviser assignments, assisting with the course offering process, scheduling events in CollegeNet and performing other duties as assigned. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have exceptional computer skills including data entry, the interest and ability to learn new systems quickly, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality, coordinate several tasks simultaneously, and prioritize their work. A successful candidate should also be detail oriented, and capable of self-management. A strong commitment to customer service, diversity, and teamwork is essential. Experience with Microsoft Office, LionPATH and CollegeNet is preferred but not required. Previous experience with the processing of financials and IBIS is preferred but not required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
