Description

The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence at Penn State University Park is seeking a part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) student Research Assistant to support our new teaching and learning scholarship (TLS) initiative. The TLS Research Assistant will work on multiple projects with faculty from a wide range of disciplines (all majors are encouraged to apply). Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students at Penn State. Our offices are located at the University Park campus. A successful candidate will have strong social science/statistical/quantitative research skills; including proficiency in using research software (such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS, SAS, Tableau, or MatLab) and high research literacy (such as finding research articles using library databases). Additional qualifications include: the ability to provide effective communication across multiple mediums; learn and work independently; manage tasks across multiple projects and thrive in a collaborative work environment. Interested candidates should submit a brief statement of interest (250 words or less), resume, and, if available, examples of prior research work (may be from a class assignment). The Research Assistant will be involved in the development of research for presentation and publication, with the possibility of direct inclusion in these efforts.
