The Pennsylvania State University seeks a highly skilled and motivated leader to lead its Multimedia and Print Center (MPC), which includes printing, copying, and mailing services. Penn State’s Multimedia Print Center is the third largest university print services operation in the country, and provides essential products and services to students, faculty and staff. MPC is a unit within Auxiliary and Business Services which provides business support services at University Park, the Commonwealth locations, Ag Cooperative Extension, and Penn State Health. Services Include: Mail - MPC provides US Mail and Campus Mail delivery services at the University Park Campus. It also processes outgoing mail and packages as well as sends daily mail packets to all campuses. Print - Printing and design services are available for all University departments. Work is produced through a combination of internal labor and equipment and also through a competitive process to outsource to pre-screened and qualified printers, who are primarily in Pennsylvania. Copy - A centralized copy center addresses needs that cannot be effectively completed on departmental copy machines due to length or complexity and other work such as course packets, exams, or specialized binding. Student Services - A convenience quick copy center for student needs is located in our main student center on campus. Copier Management Program - MPC also coordinates the office copier/printer program which is responsible for the management of the Office Multi-Function device program. The copier management program is one of the largest programs of its kind in the country. The Director reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Auxiliary and Business Services. The Director of MPC provides leadership and vision and plans and directs all work activities of the University Multimedia Print Center, which provides a wide variety of services to University faculty, students, and staff on a competitive, self-supporting basis. Minimum Qualifications: Progressive managerial experience in business management, with budgetary responsibilities, in a customer service oriented and revenue generating operation; Progressive experience in supervising support staff with a focus on fostering a workplace that is supportive of personal and professional development; Knowledge of printing, copying and mailing operations. Competencies: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills; Maintain a safe and safety-conscious workplace; Maintain a respectful workplace and model a positive and proactive attitude; Model the highest ethical standards; Provide superior customer service; Knowledge of copyright laws and their application in a higher education setting; Advanced knowledge or experience in print or mailing operations; Knowledge of US Postal Service rules and regulations; Experience in or serving higher education clients; Demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion; Display an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit; Adherence to best business practices and ethics. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
