Responsible to the Director of Admissions Services & Evaluation for the effective and successful management of work distribution, productivity and quality control measures for the data processing areas in the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Enhance functional processes. Develop and augment procedures, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes. Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies. Contribute operations information and recommendations. Implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards, resolve problems, and identify trends. Manage and communicate effectively. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies to include interviewing, selection, hiring, and employee performance appraisals. Plan and help to accomplish goals related to employee performance. Address employee performance and corrective action plans, employee training, motivation and continual feedback. Work with day-to-day distribution of tasks and workflow efficiency. Rely on experience and judgment to develop documentation and procedures for Undergraduate Admissions processes. Collaborate with teams from different departments both in- and outside of the Undergraduate Admissions Office to achieve organizational goals. Ensure that communication about operating policies and/or issues is ongoing and effective between different departments and at various departmental meetings. Operate with adaptability and cooperation. College admissions in an ever-changing environment. The Process & Operations Manager must remain current with information technology systems in the workplace, and an understanding of emerging technologies is also critical. Additionally, the successful candidate must have the ability to work alone or in a collaborative environment, as well as take the lead when issues arise or when tasks require completion. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Additional years of progressive responsibility in college admissions as well as supervisory experience is also desired. Familiarity with Penn State Undergraduate Admissions Office concepts, practices and procedures, as well as knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Docfinity, and Slate (or other CRM), as well as other administrative systems is highly desirable. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
