Description

Provide leadership and manage the day-to-day operations for the Center for Neural Engineering. Prepare financial budgets and reports. Responsible for expenditures and assessment of the financial condition of the Center. Coordinate appointments and employment related processing for student and postdoctoral trainees. Responsible for accurate application of sponsor and institutional requirements in the development and conduct of sponsored research proposals. Monitor the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) compliance requirements including training and reporting. Human investigations training and appointment as study coordinator will be required in order to handle confidential documentation related to human clinical trials run from the Center. Coordinate and monitor Biosafety health testing of Center personnel. Manage Center listserv and update Web information. Organize conferences and courses taught within the Center. Maintain lab and general office supplies, vendor contracts, hardware maintenance and software licensing. Coordinate travel for the Center directors, guests and advisory board. Prepare itineraries and submit travel expenditures and reimbursements. Manage the Director's calendar and coordinate Director's appointments. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with a financial or business information mainframe (IBIS), an automated budget management tool (FIT), Data Warehouse, SIMS and Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is strongly preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to handle multiple priorities, and attention to detail needed.
