The Coordinator of Diversity and Inclusion provides leadership and administrative direction for the planning, organization, and implementation of co-curricular programs on campus. This position will collaborate with Student Activities to ensure effective outreach and educational activities are meeting a cross section of our student body. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collaborative programming initiatives that bridge in-classroom and out-of-classroom learning, monthly thematic coordination, diversity training workshops/outreach, Diversity Circle coordination with campus and community agencies, work closely with international students, and the advisement of multiple student groups. The coordinator develops and ensures program opportunities support the needs of students of various races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, socio-economic classes, religious and spiritual traditions, ages and abilities. The candidate should have a demonstrated knowledge and experience with diversity education, inclusive excellence education, program design, a high pace environment, manage multiple projects/assignments, budget management, program assessment, reporting skills, attentiveness to broad vision as well as administrative (task) detail, and strong project management skills. The Candidate should have a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of student development with the ability to form strong advising, mentoring, and working relationships with students of diverse backgrounds. Strong knowledge and appreciation of diversity and a sincere commitment to social justice and equality. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
