Penn State Lehigh Valley is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Faculty Affairs Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator 3). This position reports to the Director of Academic Affairs (DAA) and provides supervision to two lower level Administrative Support employees. Typical responsibilities will include: Coordinating the recruitment process for part time and full-time faculty including: preparing and placing advertisements and developing interview itineraries. Coordinating various faculty personnel action. Collaborating with the campus Registrar, Program Coordinators, and DAA to identify campus instructional needs. Assisting in agenda preparation, communication, and scheduling of meetings. Coordinating new faculty orientations and semester professional gatherings. Organize mentoring relationships between full time and part time faculty members. Monitoring required faculty reports and forms. Maintaining up-to-date files on faculty. Disseminating information regarding faculty travel and supporting faculty with the Employee Reimbursement System. Assisting with procedures required for approval of study abroad trips and ensuring travel processes are completed by assigned staff. Assisting with promotion & tenure paperwork and processes. The ideal candidate for this position should possess knowledge and understanding of higher education, have the ability to balance multiple responsibilities effectively, and professionally communicate well with multiple constituents. The typical work schedule for this individual will be 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday and 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
