The Financial Planning and Operations organization in Penn State Enterprise IT/Strategic Operations is seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven track record in data analytics. This position will report to the Director of Financial Planning and Operations and will support the Strategic Operations organization. Duties of the successful candidate will include, but may not be limited to: building, conducting and completing surveys/assessments; assisting with selecting relevant metrics/measurements, tools, and models; gathering and analyzing data from multiple databases and sources; and developing and presenting reports for a wide variety of audiences. The successful candidate will also be charged with interacting regularly with stakeholders and should be comfortable utilizing appropriate project management strategies for supporting successful change efforts across a broad range of programs and initiatives. Of particular note, the successful candidate will be instrumental in the process of creating dashboards, tracking, monitoring, and analyzing Key Performance Indicators. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable of performing statistical analysis and synthesizing complex data sets to produce highly readable, informative reports and presentations. Required skills and abilities include: expertise utilizing statistical tools, forecasting methods, data mining algorithms, exceptional deductive, and inductive reasoning skills; creative thinking and innovation; and the capability to maintain and utilize databases to further support the organization.
