The College of Agricultural Sciences seeks a creative, productive, organized and detail-oriented communications professional to join the Office of Development to promote the College’s fundraising priorities and successes with coordinated and comprehensive communications. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development and working cooperatively with the Ag Communications, Ag Alumni Relations and Development Communications offices, this position will engage a wide range of audiences from donors and alumni to the Ag industry to the general public by producing strategic content including but not limited to proposals, case statements, news releases, newsletters, event materials, speeches and promotional, social and multimedia content. This position requires a self-starter who works independently as well as with a team and within guidelines, who gathers energy from being part of an innovative and dynamic group, and who can set priorities and handle multiple projects from start to finish. Excellent writing and editing skills and attention to detail are of the highest priorities for this position. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate expertise in writing and editing, with special consideration given to experience in development communications, public relations, corporate communications, and/or journalism. Competencies in photography and videography are preferred but not required. The successful candidate must possess strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
