Description

Penn State Human Resources is hiring an HR Consultant to support the College of the Liberal Arts. As part of an HR team, this position will provide direct and indirect support to full-time and part-time faculty, staff, postdoctoral, and graduate appointments. This position will specialize in academic HR responsibilities including reviewing and coordinating academic processes such as promotion and tenure, immediate tenure, sabbatical leaves, phased retirements, senior faculty reviews, and other academic procedures. The incumbent will coordinate a wide variety of human resources activities for the College across multiple human resource functions including: employee relations, equal opportunity, organizational development, talent management and acquisition, total rewards, and compliance monitoring. In addition, this position will provide guidance and advice to managers, supervisors, and other employees on HR related issues. This position, reporting to a Human Resources Strategic Partner, operates with discretion within established guidelines. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must possess an outstanding customer service orientation; attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication skills; aptitude for finding technology-driven approaches to ongoing work processes; a commitment to fostering diversity and equal opportunity; the ability to work independently and cooperatively with various levels of administrators, faculty, and staff; and excellent judgment and organizational skills.
