Description

Under the direction of the University Export Compliance Officer (UECO), and reporting to the University Office of Ethics and Compliance, the Export Compliance Specialist will provide targeted support efforts in the ongoing development and implementation of an institutional-wide Export Compliance Management Program (ECMP). The Export Compliance Specialist will assist the UECO and other University faculty, staff and students in the interpretation and implementation of ECMP processes and procedures designed to enable greater compliance with the varied laws and regulations governing the export of materials, equipment, technology, software and information. Specifically, the successful candidate will be tasked with helping to design, implement, and manage a complex, multi-party government licensing program through and involving ongoing programs at The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at The Pennsylvania State University. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Knowledge and experience working with federal security regulations, and specifically regulations governing export controls such as ITAR, EAR and OFAC, is required. Due to potential access to controlled facilities, information, technology or systems, candidates must be U.S. citizens to apply. The successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation. This is a one-year, fixed-term renewable appointment.
