Description

Penn State Wilkes-Barre seeks a dynamic, energetic, motivated, and team-oriented individual for our Enrollment Services Specialist 3 position (Admissions Counselor). The Enrollment Services Specialist provides a wide array of consultative services to prospective and current students and their families including representing the University at recruitment and/or financial aid events; advising on the admissions and/or enrollment processes; evaluating credentials of student applications for admissions and/or financial aid; monitoring, tracking and reporting on intake statistics. Admissions Counselors are also responsible for coordinating with other University departments and campuses to provide needed services, developing and presenting information in a variety of forums, developing and coordinating campus visitation programs, and creating, coordinating and reviewing communications for consistency of messaging across multiple areas. Additional responsibilities include advising student Lion Ambassadors organization. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Exceptional customer service and follow-up skills required. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and organizational skills are essential, along with ability to manage multiple projects. Computer experience with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary. Knowledge of admission’s enrollment data and People Soft and SLATE programs is a plus. Experience with social media platforms a plus. This position requires you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
