Description

The Clearinghouse is currently seeking candidates for a social science Research Project Manager position that will oversee projects and programs that fall underneath the Clearinghouse’s Resource Center for Improving Family Health Behaviors, including the Thrive initiative. The Thrive initiative is an existing health promotion parenting program with four specific program areas, by developmental age groups. Duties and responsibilities of the position will include: oversee program managers, timelines, and budgets for each specific project area; manage and track budgets and resources to assure efforts are in compliance with project guidelines; manage communication efforts with partners; assist with preparation and submission of statements of work and grants; coordinate the evaluation of procedures implemented during the project to determine necessary design and logistical changes; coordinate meetings, phone conferences, minutes and presentations for multiple phases of projects; serve as liaison with internal departments and external entities; oversee data collection and data entry for projects; assist in writing scientific papers for publication; develop, write, and implement procedures for projects; other tasks as needed. Some travel may be required. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must possess strong writing and oral communication skills, and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to work efficiently and effectively in both independent and collaborative situations; being a team player is an essential part of the job. The ideal candidate will have significant program development, program delivery and evaluation, implementation science, research experience, and research ethics. Preference will be given to individuals that have experience working with or knowledge of military culture, military families, and/or military background. The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at The Pennsylvania State University (Clearinghouse) is a partnership between Penn State, the Department of Defense, and the United States Department of Agriculture. The mission of the Clearinghouse is to engage in applied research and evaluation, implementation science, education and outreach to advance the health and well-being of military families. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
