Penn State Human Resources is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Administrative Support Coordinator to provide a wide variety of complex administrative and office functions and specialized technical support to this unit. This position will oversee the activities of the office, such as setting priorities, coordinating, planning, solving problems and approving completed work. This position will supervise assigned support staff, which will include interviewing, hiring, training and performance management. Responsibilities may also include facilities management; preparing, managing and maintaining budgets and budget expenditures; approving financial transactions; ensuring appropriate coverage for departments; ensuring timely and appropriate dissemination of information; maintaining calendars and schedules; coordinating office equipment purchases and material; and drafting various presentations, reports, and speeches. This position will also provide assistance to and collaborates with other units and staff to plan and implement events and projects. Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills are essential; as well as strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; accuracy and attention to detail; the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments; and the ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team-oriented environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information, and exercise sound judgment and discretion in referring inquiries to other HR staff members or units. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
