Description

Penn State Human Resources is currently recruiting for the position of Benefits Specialist within the Employee Benefits department. The Benefits Specialist will work closely with the University’s retirement plan providers and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate reporting of service and earnings data for our employees. Responsibilities will include working with University accounting and payroll operations for routine reconciliation of file transmissions to those providers, responding to employee and provider inquiries regarding data sent in an efficient and accurate manner, as well as assisting with retirement plan projects and initiatives as needed. The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communications, solid customer service skills, and an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point. Prior experience working with defined benefit/defined contribution plans and/or financial reconciliation strongly preferred. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding.
