Description

The Communications, Information and Navigation Office (CINO) at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is looking for motivated, talented, and self-driven Research and Development Engineers to join our Image Science and GIS Department which is part of the Cyber, Data and Image Sciences Division. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: execution of research and development projects in Image, Data, and Geospatial Sciences; programming in one or more upper level language including Python, Matlab, R, IDL; programming in one or more compiled languages (C++, Java); and collaboration with team members. Experience with the following is required: training/experience in one or more higher order languages (Python, R, Matlab, IDL); training/experience in at least one complied language (C++, Java); training/background in multiple technologies and/or disciplines to include machine learning, predictive analytics, data analysis, geospatial analysis, image science, and computer vision. Must be a self-starter who takes initiative to learn in a rapid paced environment. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline (Professional Engineer license accepted in lieu of Bachelor's degree) or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Image Science, Data Science, or Mathematics, Computer, or other Engineering is preferred. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. This is a one-year fixed-term renewable appointment.
