Description

The Penn State Office of Government and Community Relations seeks a Federal Relations Intern for the spring 2019 semester. The internship provides a unique opportunity for the student to work directly with the Director of Federal Relations and other staff members, as well as learn more about the interaction between the federal government and the University via the Office of Government and Community Relations. Seniors and juniors are preferred, and course credit is available (up to 3 credits, or 10 hours per week). Possible duties include: Learn the federal budget process through research on federal programs of importance to the University; Conduct searches of various legislation and research how they impact the University; Research and update Penn State presence in Congressional Districts; Periodically update DC Congressional staff lists; Update Pennsylvania Members of Congress Profiles; Create regular Congressional Newswires; Attend staff meetings and assist with various projects.
